Celebrating 2 years of standup comedy magic in Lowertown Saint Paul's favorite room for laughs. Featuring a full lineup of Gambit favorites!

Gambit Brewing Comedy began 2 years ago with a little Tuesday night open mic at the back of the brewery. There were probably 6 audience members and even fewer comics! In the time since, we've grown to become a destination for must-see standup comedy events such as the annual Funniest Person in St Paul contest (featured in the St Paul Pioneer Press and MN Star Tribune); Funniest Headliner contest; the Friday Night Comedy!series; New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day comedy shows; Pride Comedy Night; St Paul Art Crawl Comedy; the Funniest In The Twin Cities comedy showcase; the Hump Day Comedy Hour; Tuesday Night Open Mic; the St Cloud Invasion, Duluth Invasion, and Iowa Invasion shows; and the upcoming Laughs Per Minute Battle.

This special celebration features a lineup of Gambit Brewing Comedy favorites - comics who have performed for our audiences with much fanfare, from established pros to some of the top up-and-comers. Come celebrate with us as we put on this free show as our way of saying thank you to local standup comedy fans who've supported us or have looked forward to finally checking out one of our shows.

**This will likely become a standing-room-only event (seating capacity is 65, total capacity 92) so arriving early is recommended to find good seating, have time to order drinks and food, use the restroom, etc. Show up as early as you like. After 6:30pm it may become more dificult to find seating.

Kick off your week with some laid-back fun at Gambit every Monday night! We’re rolling it back with classic retro video games and breaking out the board and strategy games for a full evening of friendly competition and good vibes.

Headliner Nate Abshire is coming to Gambit Brewing & we couldn't be more excited! Audiences love his sardonic wit, keen writing, & playful stage presence. Nate regularly headlines at Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis; released his own comedy album “Coming in Hot”; performed on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”; & has opened for the likes of Mark Maron, Whitney Cummings, & The Sklar Brothers.

Joining Nate will be feature comic & Acme regular Linda Aarons, whose quiet demeanor is the perfect set-up to her smart & unexpected punchlines. Linda's been a giant part of the Minneapolis comedy scene for years & has become known for her deadpan, fast-paced comedy style that audiences adore. She won the Funniest Person in Minnesota contest, was a finalist in last year's Funniest Headlienr contest, & has opened for renowned comedy legends such as Louie Anderson.

Host & producer Jesse The Shrink is a standup comedian & yes...a therapist! He was a Funniest Person with a Day Job finalist at Mall of America's House of Comedy, winner of the Clear Water Comedy contest at The Plus in Eau Claire, is co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, & appears regularly on the Tom Barnard Show.

Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing has become a St Paul favorite for fans of standup, featuring some of the best comedic talent from around the country as well as our own homegrown talent right here in the Twin Cities' thriving comedy scene. Headliner: Nate Abshire

Audiences love Nate’s sardonic wit, keen writing, and playful stage presence. He started performing comedy in 2009 to spite a girl who wouldn’t return his calls and pretty soon he was finishing runner-up in Acme Comedy Company’’s “Funniest Person in the Twin Cities” contest; venturing West to become a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition; finishing runner-up in the “Best of the Midwest” contest at Laughfest; opening for the likes of Mark Maron, Whitney Cummings, and The Sklar Brothers; becoming a regular headliner at Acme; releasing his debut album “Coming in Hot”, and performing on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”. The girl? She still won’t return his calls.

Her knowledge of pop culture, keen insights into human nature and dry-as-dust delivery makes her a favorite with audiences of all kinds. Jesse is a bona fide licensed therapist & standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner-workings & often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure: after hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again!

Jesse is the producer & host of a number of Twin Cities comedy shows including Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, & Comedy Night at Station 10. Trivia Mafia is here to host trivia every Sunday at 6pm. Trivia Mafia (aka the world’s best bar trivia) is a bar and brewery trivia operation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each session is comprised of 8 rounds, including an image and a sound round, and since we prefer things old-school, we still do pen-and-paper style at Gambit. Plus, the top three winners each week will go home with a prize!

On New Year's Eve, Gambit Brewing welcomes back Freshly Squeezed Comedy, the high-energy, wacky standup duo of Lefty Crumpet and Jesse The Shrink. They book, produce, and perform in their own shows throughout the state of Minnesota. Lefty brings his silly songs and Jesse brings his unique perspectives as a licensed therapist (yes he really is a shrink and yes, that probably means he's analyzing you).

Joining them for these TWO special back-to-back shows will be national headliner Ali Sultan, who has been featured on Comedy Central, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, filmed a Dry Bar Comedy special and released two comedy albums that have garnered 1+ million streams (see more about Ali below).

Whether you want to celebrate early and be home by 9pm or live it up and ring in the New Year at midnight with us (free glasses of champagne-flavored seltzers will be served to toast with!), we've got you covered. 7pm or 10pm show, $25 General Admission or $30 Reserved Seating...we're giving you options. Ali Sultan

Ali is a Yemeni-Ethiopian immigrant. His comedy can be seen on Comedy Central, Don't Tell Comedy, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. His albums Happy to Be Here and Funny First can be heard on Spotify and have garnered over one million streams. He filmed his Half Hour comedy special in Dubai for Comedy Central Arabia and won the Best in The Midwest competition at Gildas LaughFest. Ali's Drybar Comedy special has over 1.7 million views on YouTube and he can be seen on the new PBS Roots of Comedy series.

Lefty Crumpet
Lefty is a Minnesota-based, ethnically-ambiguous, joke-slinging, musical funnyman with social anxiety from Riverside, California. This rising star was a finalist in the Funniest Person With a Day Job contest at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in the Mall of America.

Lefty’s journey in comedy began when his friends encouraged him to try an open mic in college. The lure of the stage was too strong to resist. He then joined the University of Minnesota’s student club for comedians. Armed with sharp wit and a guitar, he quickly incorporated music into his performances. This led to an invitation to appear on Mytalk Radio’s Brittany and Kendall Show. Due to the popularity of his “Hallelujah” parody, “Minnesota”, he became a recurring guest.

​In addition to his solo act, Lefty presents his signature blend of joy and absurdity through Freshly Squeezed Comedy, a group he co-founded that produces comedy shows in breweries and bars all over Minnesota.

Colin Bracewell will be in the taproom BOTH Friday 12/12 and Saturday 12/13! Come warm up and enjoy free live music.

A Minneapolis-based, Canada-bred singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Colin Bracewell is paving his own pop-folk-rock path within the Midwest music scene. Releasing his debut EP in March of 2024, Bracewell collaborated with Minnesota-based band to result in a catchy blend of indie-rock and intimate ballads. Bracewell has also had several sold-out shows at First Ave's 7th St Entry, airplay on Minnesota's The Current, and recently had his biggest show yet at the Fine Line March 14th for his "Cozy" EP Release. Colin's 4 song EP, Cozy, delivers a taste of genre-hopping songs served with the pop hooks that he is known for. The set was co-produced with Chris Hoge and saw Bracewell exclusively songwriting on each track.
