NYE Comedy Show
Celebrate NYE the RIGHT way this year...with delicious food and drinks, great vibes, and a standup comedy experience like no other! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!!!
On New Year's Eve, Gambit Brewing welcomes back Freshly Squeezed Comedy, the high-energy, wacky standup duo of Lefty Crumpet and Jesse The Shrink. They book, produce, and perform in their own shows throughout the state of Minnesota. Lefty brings his silly songs and Jesse brings his unique perspectives as a licensed therapist (yes he really is a shrink and yes, that probably means he's analyzing you).
Joining them for these TWO special back-to-back shows will be national headliner Ali Sultan, who has been featured on Comedy Central, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, filmed a Dry Bar Comedy special and released two comedy albums that have garnered 1+ million streams (see more about Ali below).
Whether you want to celebrate early and be home by 9pm or live it up and ring in the New Year at midnight with us (free glasses of champagne-flavored seltzers will be served to toast with!), we've got you covered. 7pm or 10pm show, $25 General Admission or $30 Reserved Seating...we're giving you options. ABOUT OUR COMEDIANS:
Ali is a Yemeni-Ethiopian immigrant. His comedy can be seen on Comedy Central, Don't Tell Comedy, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. His albums Happy to Be Here and Funny First can be heard on Spotify and have garnered over one million streams. He filmed his Half Hour comedy special in Dubai for Comedy Central Arabia and won the Best in The Midwest competition at Gildas LaughFest. Ali's Drybar Comedy special has over 1.7 million views on YouTube and he can be seen on the new PBS Roots of Comedy series.
Jesse The Shrink
What do you get when you mix a shrink and comedian? This guy! Jesse is a bona fide licensed therapist and standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner-workings and often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure: after hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again!
Jesse is the producer and host of a number of Twin Cities comedy shows including Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, and Comedy Night at Station 10. He’s also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, creator of the Funniest Person in St Paul & Funniest Headlinercontests, and runs a weekly comedy open mic at Gambit Brewing.
Jesse won the 2024 Clear Water Comedy contest at The Plus in Eau Claire, WI, was a 2024 Funniest Person With A Day Job finalist at House of Comedy in Mall of America, and is a regular guest on the Tom Barnard Show.
Lefty Crumpet
Lefty is a Minnesota-based, ethnically-ambiguous, joke-slinging, musical funnyman with social anxiety from Riverside, California. This rising star was a finalist in the Funniest Person With a Day Job contest at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in the Mall of America.
Lefty’s journey in comedy began when his friends encouraged him to try an open mic in college. The lure of the stage was too strong to resist. He then joined the University of Minnesota’s student club for comedians. Armed with sharp wit and a guitar, he quickly incorporated music into his performances. This led to an invitation to appear on Mytalk Radio’s Brittany and Kendall Show. Due to the popularity of his “Hallelujah” parody, “Minnesota”, he became a recurring guest.
In addition to his solo act, Lefty presents his signature blend of joy and absurdity through Freshly Squeezed Comedy, a group he co-founded that produces comedy shows in breweries and bars all over Minnesota.
Gambit Brewing is one of the most popular destinations in Lowertown St Paul and for good reason: the vibe is unmistakeably chill yet fun; their award-winning, hand-crafted drinks include beers, hard seltzer cocktails, THC selzters; and hard root beer; and their unique variety of gourmet pizzas were recently hailed by the St Paul Pioneer Press.
And then there's the comedy! Gambit has quickly established itself as a premier destination for live standup comedy in St Paul. Headliner Nate Abshire is coming to Gambit Brewing & we couldn't be more excited! Audiences love his sardonic wit, keen writing, & playful stage presence. Nate regularly headlines at Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis; released his own comedy album “Coming in Hot”; performed on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”; & has opened for the likes of Mark Maron, Whitney Cummings, & The Sklar Brothers.

A Minneapolis-based, Canada-bred singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Colin Bracewell is paving his own pop-folk-rock path within the Midwest music scene. Releasing his debut EP in March of 2024, Bracewell collaborated with Minnesota-based band to result in a catchy blend of indie-rock and intimate ballads. Bracewell has also had several sold-out shows at First Ave's 7th St Entry, airplay on Minnesota's The Current, and recently had his biggest show yet at the Fine Line March 14th for his "Cozy" EP Release. Colin's 4 song EP, Cozy, delivers a taste of genre-hopping songs served with the pop hooks that he is known for. The set was co-produced with Chris Hoge and saw Bracewell exclusively songwriting on each track.

ABOUT OUR COMICS:
Headliner: Kris Shaw
Kris is a fan favorite hailing from Las Vegas who tours comedy clubs, colleges and events all across the United States and Canada. He has entertained troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Japan, Korea, Bahrain, Dubai, Kyrgestan and Africa. Kris also appears in national television commercials and had a recurring extra role on the CBS drama Close To Home. Kris can be heard regularly on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network on Sirius Radio.
It may just be a live microphone in a small spotlight, but when Kris steps up to it, the experience is unlike anything you’ve come to expect from standup comedy. He’s a storyteller who, with quick bursts of wit and carefully crafted silences, keeps the audience engaged through everyday observations and tough topics alike. His slightly askew but lovable style disarms and charms from the first set-up to the final punch line. There isn’t so much as a hint of meanness in his spirit, and that good energy spills onto the stage and beyond. You will find yourself laughing out loud, delighted at how easily you relate to this uniquely funny guy.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, this Queer and charming storyteller found herself in Minneapolis because she lost a bet. Gabby was a finalist in the House of Comedy’s Funniest Person contest at Mall of America, was named a “Comic to Watch” by Racket MN, and has opened for national headliners such as Rachel Scanlon, Ali Sultan, Kelsey Cook, and Chad Daniels.

Located in St. Cloud, Matt is a producer, promoter, podcast host, & comic who has managed to find success with each of his comedy endeavors.
He books & produces the weekly comedy showcase Beaver Island Comedy Night at Beaver Island Brewing in St Cloud, hosts the weekly comedy open mic at the Keller Bar in St Cloud, & is co-founder/co-host/co-producer of the popular Awful Service podcast. Matt has also performed in bars, breweries, & comedy clubs throughout Minnesota.
Erick Austin
A St Cloud original, Erick is a true up-and-coming comic & producer on the Minnesota comedy scene. He recently finished as the runner-up in the 2024 Funniest Person With A Day Job contest at Rick Bronson's House of Comedy in Mall of America. He also produces comedy shows in the St Cloud, Big Lake, and Monticello areas as founder of EA Entertainment.

Trivia MafIa
Trivia Mafia is here to host trivia every Sunday at 6pm. Trivia Mafia (aka the world’s best bar trivia) is a bar and brewery trivia operation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each session is comprised of 8 rounds, including an image and a sound round, and since we prefer things old-school, we still do pen-and-paper style at Gambit. Plus, the top three winners each week will go home with a prize!

Bring some vinyl from your own collection for our DJ to spin, and get a $5 pint of beer!
Stand-Up Comedy Open Mic
Our popular comedy open mic is FREE & runs every Tuesday from September through May! Featuring lineups that often include 1st-timers, up-and-coming comics, established veterans, & even national headliners! Weekly prize giveaways include free comedy show tickets, 4-packs of Gambit beer, & more! Make Tuesday nights Comedy Night @ Gambit!!

Sign up any time during the week! Cut-off is noon on Tuesdays (for performing that Tuesday night). Sign-ups after noon will be counted towards the following Tuesday.
10-20 spots available each week (varies due to a number of factors). Times are 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 7 minutes (indicated in the lineup).
