Trivia Mafia is here to host trivia every Sunday at 6pm. Trivia Mafia (aka the world’s best bar trivia) is a bar and brewery trivia operation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each session is comprised of 8 rounds, including an image and a sound round, and since we prefer things old-school, we still do pen-and-paper style at Gambit. Plus, the top three winners each week will go home with a prize!

Justin Barts is an award-winning singer/songwriter and recording artist in the Twin cities area.  Justin started playing the guitar as a teenager and soon was writing his own material influenced by blues, rock, jazz and country and has been recording and performing music for over a decade.  Justin earned his degree at The Institution of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, MN and has operated his own recording studio since 2005.  From an intimate acoustic show to a 6-piece band with a full horn section and violin, his versatility and revolving door of top-notch players make him a must-see act.  Justin performs for weddings, bars, clubs, festivals, private events and benefits & charities.   He plays in many bands around the area and was the guitarist and vocalist that won the 2016 Famous Dave’s Blues Battle, although you can often see him fronting his band, “Justin Barts & The Way Out” on guitar and lead vocals throughout the Twin Cities area and beyond.  Playing all genres of music and the hits we all know and love, Justin’s melodic and soulful performance never disappoints.

Our resident DJs curate an eclectic selection of vinyl records spanning various genres, from jazz and blues to rock and funk, ensuring there's something for every music lover to enjoy. Attention all cribbage aficionados and beer enthusiasts! On the second Wednesday of each month, Gambit hosts a Cribbage Night, and we want you to be a part of the fun!

What to Expect:

• Cribbage games in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

• A variety of craft beers on tap to enjoy throughout the evening

• Bring your cribbage partner, or come solo and we will help you find another player to play against.

• Players of all skill levels are welcome!

Ira Ford

Ira Ford is originally from Philadelphia by way of Maryland where he was a professional lyricist. Having always been amazed at how a comedian could hold so many people's attention, he decided to follow his passion and pursue comedy. 

Making Minneapolis his new comedic home, Ira competed in the "Funniest Person with a Day Job" contest at Rick Bronson's House of Comedy (Mall of America) & made it to the semifinals. He went on to produce his own wildly popular comedy showcase "Laughs & Legends" at Lakes & Legends Brewing in downtown Minneapolis, before eventually earning a paid spot as a regular comic at Minneapolis' premiere comedy club, Acme Comedy Club.

Ira recently headlined The Plus in Eau Claire, WI & is now producing his latest comedy brainchild “Light 'Em Up! The Bong Show” at Hook & Ladder. 

Drew Hehir

Drew Hehir is a comedian, producer, father, & unlikely world traveler. It was on his 20th birthday, during an acid trip with friends, that he was inspired to try standup. The next day he went to House of Comedy in Mall of America & asked “How do I do this??”

Since then he’s gone from stoner guy to responsible stoner father, founding Under The Bridge Comedy & producing/booking/hosting the popular Comedy Under The Bridge show at 10,000 Drops Distillery in Fairbault.

Drew’s laid-back style keeps him prepared for all of life’s surprises & his candid but vulnerable vibe gives great scope when balancing life, work, and comedy. On the road of comedy, Drew has become a coy wordsmith who is strengthening his perspective through life lessons and jokes.

Dan Alten:

Dan Alten is an intelligent goofball from Kentucky who has headlined shows in 30 states playing everything from theaters to punk basements to art galleries to beloved comedy clubs. Doing over 200 shows a year bringing his tight night surreal nonsense to the people, like if the Ramones were one guy with a mustache and good jokes.

He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bobcat, Rory Scovel, Sarah Sherman from SNL, Johnny Pemberton, Hari Kondabolu, rapper Open Mike Eagle, DJ Doug Pound & David Leibe Hart from Tim & Eric, various punk bands with silly names, and a guy at an open mic who tried to throw his father’s ashes into the crowd. He has recorded 2 albums, written a zine, and filmed a pilot for an Amazon Prime stand up show that was lost to history. He’s funny. You will enjoy him and if not you can spit on his car.

Lefty Crumpet 

Lefty is a 25-year-old, Minneapolis-based, ethnically-ambiguous, joke-slinging, musical funnyman with social anxiety from Riverside, California. He started doing standup comedy in college & immediately fell in love with the stage. His love of playing music led him to begin incorporating comedy songs into his standup performances. He lifts your hearts and minds with absurd and hilarious jokes and tunes, about various topics ranging from relationships to Doordash.

Lefty was a finalist in the Funniest Person With a Day Job contest at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedyin Mall of America & is co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy. You can find him bringing joy and confusion to crowds all over the Midwest.

Rudy Pavich

Rudy will be recording his debut comedy album days after this show! A Twin Cities favorite & unabashedly diehard Blink 182 fan, Rudy is a comedian/podcaster and video graphics producer. Since winning his 5th grade talent show with a standup set he stole from A&E's Evening at the Improv, Rudy's passion has been on stage (with his own material now, of course). He spent his early years in radio, working across the country in MN, WI, MO, & NH until he landed back in his home state at Active-Rock's 93X. Since then he's been grinding it out on the road as a headliner & opening for some of comedy's heaviest hitters Tammy Pescatelli, Jay Mohr, Kyle Dunnigan, Jeff Leeson, Sophie Buddle, Adam Ray, Jonathan Kite, & Michael Yo. Currently you can find him on numerous road dates with Adam Carolla.

FUNNIEST PERSON IN ST PAUL CONTEST FINALE!

For 10 weeks throughout the summer approximately 100 comedians have battled it out to earn a spot in THIS show, the contest finale! At its conclusion 1 will be crowned Funniest Person in St Paul AND earn a paid spot in our Sept 6th Friday Night Comedy show at Gambit!

Jesse The Shrink will host, the finalists will compete, the audience will help score the performances, & as our headliners Lefty Crumpet & Rudy Pavich perform the scores will be tallied! Abenezer Merdassa is an Ethiopian American comic based in the Twin Cities. He began his comedy journey in 2018. Since then, Abenezer has been a regular at Minneapolis’ Comedy Corner Underground, Sisyphus Brewing comedy room, House of Comedy and many more venues across the Midwest. He won Acme Comedy Club’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest, has helped run the Comedy Corner Underground, and opened for big names such as Kyle Kinane and Akaash Singh.

K Jay the Comedian

K Jay The Comedian is a natural-born cutup who gives your funny bone a true workout. He could walk into an empty room & find a way to turn it into a good time! The seasoned comedy vet brings a laid-back stye that turns a standup stage into his living room, the audience his guests, & the evening a funfest of topical & observational humor. K Jay's stories & jokes are filled with witty depictions of everyday life that are as relatable as they are funny. 

He's been featured in the Detroit Comedy Fesitval & also acted at the nationally-renowned Playwrights' Center & Brave New Workshop.

FUNNIEST PERSON IN ST. PAUL CONTEST:

Before the two headliners, it’s Week 10 of the Gambit Brewing Company’s Funniest Person in St. Paul contest. The preliminary round will take place every Tuesday from June 25th-August 27th, spanning 10 weeks. Each week one winner will be voted for (by the audience, Gambit Brewing staff, the host, & the headliners) with the contest culminating in a finale on September 3rd, featuring all 10 winners from the prelims.

The winner will be crowned Funniest Person in St Paul AND get a paid spot in a Gambit Brewing comedy show on Friday, September 6th, with headliner & St Paul Comedy Fart-Star Jeff Pfoser! 2nd place will get a paid spot in a Freshly Squeezed Comedy Show & 3rd place will get a paid “Special Guest” spot in a future Gambit Brewing Stand Up Comedy Open Mic Night!
