Don't miss national headliner (and Minnesota's very own) Tommy Ryman, who has headlined comedy clubs around the country, released four comedy albums, and was a semifinalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing (see video clip below).
We're also excited to be featuring hilarious comedy vet Wendy Berkowitz, who's performed in every comedy festival under the sun, including the Detroit Women of Comedy Festival and International Ladies Laugh Comedy Festival. Hosting the evening will be our in-house comedian/therapist Jesse The Shrink. Full bios for each of our comedians below!

ABOUT OUR COMEDIANS
Tommy Ryman, a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is an acclaimed comedian. His oddly-adorable stand-up landed him No. 1 on iTunes comedy charts for his album Party Troll. Named Best of the Midwest at Gilda’s Laugh Fest, Tommy grew up in Minnesota jamming on clarinet for his new-age mom and kale-chip-making dad.
He performs at top clubs, colleges, and festivals across the nation including the Great American Comedy Festival. Tommy was invited to be on Nickelodeon’s NickMom Night Out and has a full comedy special on Dry Bar Comedy. He’s worked alongside Nick Swardson, Hannibal Buress, Maria Bamford and Louie Anderson but none wear a cardigan quite like Tommy. Featured on Paste Magazine and regularly heard on SirusXM and iheartradio, Tommy’s act can be described as absurdist and clever masked behind an endearing, innocent demeanor. A Last Comic Standing judge raved, “I have never seen anything like [Tommy] before in my whole life, [he is] one-of-a-kind, fantastic!”
Wendy Berkowitz
Wendy started performing standup comedy after retiring from the University of Minnesota. She has been featured in a variety of comedy festivals including the Women in Comedy Festival, the Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, the Twin Cities Jewish Festival, and the International Ladies Laugh Comedy Festival. She also performed in the Pride Comedy Show @ Sisyphus Brewing in Minneapolis and has been a judge for the Funniest Person with a Day Job contest at Mall of America's House of Comedy.
Jesse The Shrink
What do you get when you mix a shrink & comedian? This guy! Jesse is a bona fide licensed therapist & standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner-workings & often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure: after hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again!
Jesse is the producer & host of Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, St Paul Art Crawl Comedy Night, Therapy & Politics, & the 420 Standup Comedy Show.
He’s also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, creator of the Funniest Person in St Paul contest, & runs a weekly comedy open mic at Gambit Brewing. Jesse won the 2024 Clear Water Comedy contestat The Plus in Eau Claire, WI, was a 2024 Funniest Person With A Day Job finalist at House of Comedyin Mall of America, & is a regular guest on the Tom Barnard Podcast.

Max Chapman
Max began his standup comedy career in Minneapolis in 2019. His style combines one-liners & painfully honest stories from his life, both of which are darkly humorous. Max has performed all around the Midwest & can be seen regularly at Acme Comedy Club & Comedy Corner Underground.
Pege Miller
Pege started her comedy career at the Honolulu Comedy Club on the island of Oahu & she's been making audiences from Hawaii to the Midwest laugh ever since.
Known for her high-energy & positive-vibes demeanor, along with a sharp sense of humor, Pege has become a favorite performer at comedy clubs across the Twin Cities.
She can be seen regularly at the House of Comedy in Mall of America, recently performed in Jesse The Shrink's Midlife Crisis Show 3 at The Parkway Theater, & will be featured this April at Gambit Brewing's Friday Night Comedy with headliner Robert Baril.

Live Music: Dan Israel
Dan Israel is a longtime fixture on the Minneapolis music scene. He was the first guest on 89.3 The Current’s “Local Show” and has been called “the hardest working singer-songwriter in Minnesota.” He won Song of the Year (for “Come to Me”) in the 2005 Minnesota Music Awards and Songwriter of the Year in the 2006 MMA’s. He received a 4-star review from the UK’s “Uncut” magazine for his 2007 album “Turning.” He has released 17 critically acclaimed albums, including his latest, 2022’s “Seriously," which many critics and fans have praised as his finest record yet.

Trevor Anderson
Trevor is a Wisconsin born, Minneapolis based stand up comedian who has been making a name for himself throughout the Midwest over the past decade. His intelligent and charmingly enthusiastic approach to comedy helps him connect with and entertain any audience. Quick wit and clean, quirky takes on everyday observations and family life make Trevor’s comedy widely accessible, yet completely one of a kind. His debut album “Stay At Home Dude” was released on Ghost Runner Records and has been featured on the Sirius XM channels “Pure Comedy” and “Jeff & Larry’s Comedy Roundup”.
Trevor has worked alongside Pete Lee, Charlie Berens, Chad Daniels, Myq Kaplan and is the house band leader for Mary Mack’s North Star Comedy Hour variety show; he’s performed at the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, SnoJam Comedy Festival and at the Aspen Comedy Festival where he was a winner of the Rooftop Comedy College Competition. When he’s at home in Minneapolis, Trevor can be seen regularly at the renowned Acme Comedy Company, hosting his long-running Punchline Punchout showcase or sitting on his deck handcrafting what some have called the most unique merch in comedy.
Trevor Wade
A lifetime fan and student of comedy, born and raised in South Minneapolis, Trevor has established himself on the Twin Cities comedy scene as someone not afraid to speak his mind on any subject with a universal and endearing appeal. His material is inspired by his daily life observations and he was recently described as "always fresh and entertaining!"
Influenced by comedy legends like Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Dick Gregory, Trevor has a firm belief that comics can be interesting and have substance when doing stand-up in addition to being funny. "I want to show respect to the people who made it possible for me to have a voice on stage, so with that in mind I try to give the people something to think about when I’m out there."

Mike Brody
Starting comedy on a whim at an open mic in the year 2000, Mike has since devoted his life to perfecting the delivery of his high-energy act. Bucking the trend of the apathetic comedian, his genuine passion for his craft draws audience members into the unique world of Mike Brody: an affable, clever guy whose life is often derailed by his own neurotic, obsessive-compulsive and clumsy tendencies.
Brody has spent the last 20+ years touring the U.S. and internationally and hosts the beloved "Only You Would Think That" podcast with fellow comedian Jessi Campbell. He has been featured on the nationally syndicated radio program "The Bob & Tom Show" as well as the "The Dan Patrick Show" podcast. He's recorded two comedy albums , with tracks regularly featured on SirusXM Satellite Radio. Brody can also be seen in his Dry Bar Comedy special "Not Afraid of Butterflies".

Born and raised in Saint Cloud, Minnesota; a city as large as it is small. Comrade Tripp successfully escaped to Minneapolis which is marginally better, where he is a co-producer of Uproar Performing Arts and has been a featured performer of the 10K Laughs Festival.
He has also found another home here on the internet, which is also marginally better than his previous residences. His brand of dark humor has found a place in the ecosystems of the algorithm.
Despite his despondent disposition, he’s a child at heart; insomuch that he cannot be trusted to take care of himself and has no self esteem whatsoever. The rest of his body is very old.

Stand-Up Comedy Open Mic ft. Nate Abshire & Sam Schedler
THIS WEEK’S HEADLINERS:
Nate Abshire
Nate started performing comedy in 2009 to spite a girl who wouldn’t return his calls. The following year, he finished runner-up in the “Funniest Person in the Twin Cities” contest.
In 2012 he ventured west and was a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. In 2013 Nate performed at Laughfest in their “Best of the Midwest” contest finishing runner-up, and he was chosen to open for Mark Maron, Whitney Cummings, and The Sklar Brothers at various shows in Minneapolis. In the spring of 2014 he was tabbed to perform on the 8th season of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in Los Angeles.
Nate's comedy album "Coming In Hot" can be heard on various platforms including Spotify.
Audiences love Nate's sardonic wit, keen writing, and playful stage presence. The girl; still won’t return his calls. Nate currently lives in Minneapolis with his dog.
Sam is a Minneapolis-based standup comedian who was named one of the top comics in 2023 by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine and was selected as a Twin Cities "Comic to Watch" in 2025 by Racket.
He has opened for Julio Torres, Adam Conover, Steve Hofstetter, Jay Jurden, Grace Kuhlenschmidt, Pat Regan, and Jake Cornell. Find him on Instagram and TikTok at @SamSched.

Lefty Crumpet
Lefty is a 26-year-old, Minneapolis-based, ethnically-ambiguous, joke-slinging, musical funnyman with social anxiety from Riverside, California. He started doing standup comedy in college & immediately fell in love with the stage. His love of playing music led him to begin incorporating comedy songs into his standup performances. He lifts your hearts and minds with absurd and hilarious jokes and tunes, about various topics ranging from relationships to Doordash.
Lefty is the producer and host of the popular Pajama Party comedy showcase, was a finalist in the Funniest Person With a Day Job contest at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in Mall of America, is co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, and has appeared on myTalk radio's Brittany and Kendall Show. You can find him bringing joy and confusion to crowds all over the Midwest.

Devohn Bland
Devohn is a comedian, musician, writer, and activist. He is a co-founder of the award-winning Twin Cities collective Uproar Performing Arts, has performed in the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, and is a writer for The Nordly.
Brendan Gay
Brendan is a national touring comedian who smiles confidently when nervous. Whether it’s his keen perspective on current culture or growing up as a millennial, he’ll make you laugh.
Brendan was a finalist on TruTV’s Comedy Breakout initiative at The New York Television Festival, Finalist in the Make Me Laugh USA Competition, and Semi finalist in NBC’s Stand Up Diversity Showcase.
Recently Brendan went on a “52 x 52” comedy tour where he traveled to 52 cities in 52 weeks doing stand up comedy at the most respected clubs and venues across the country. He’s also the creator and producer of Send It Podcast. His first comedy special The Riot is out now on YouTube and Amazon. His second comedy will be produced and directed by Emmy award winner Nolan Morice and will be released in 2025

Treat your special someone to a fun and romantic evening filled with delicious food (menu below), exceptional drinks, and copious amounts of laughter! We're serving up a 4-course dinner, prepared by Lowertown's very own Saint City Catering, and each course will be perfectly paired with various Gambit beers selected by owner Mike Christensen.
Topping off the night will be an hour of exceptional standup comedy, with host Jesse The Shrink (producer and host of the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show and Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing) and headliner Mike Brody (comedy albums "That's Not What I Meant" and "Sell Me a Bridge"). Don't miss out on this unique Valentine's Day experience!
Tickets can be purchased in packages of 1 (bar seating only), 2, 4, or 6. Each ticket includes dinner, dessert, paired drinks, and the comedy show. Must be purchased by February 10th at 11:59pm to give us adequate time for food planning. If there are any tickets remaining after the deadline, they will become available for the comedy show only at $30 per ticket and can be purchased here. The comedy show begins at 8:30pm and ends at 9:30pm.
THE COMEDIANS:
Headliner Mike Brody
Starting comedy on a whim at an open mic in the year 2000, Mike has since devoted his life to perfecting the delivery of his high-energy act. Bucking the trend of the apathetic comedian, his genuine passion for his craft draws audience members into the unique world of Mike Brody: an affable, clever guy whose life is often derailed by his own neurotic, obsessive-compulsive and clumsy tendencies.
Brody has spent the last 20+ years touring the U.S. and internationally and hosts the beloved "Only You Would Think That" podcast with fellow comedian Jessi Campbell. He has been featured on the nationally syndicated radio program "The Bob & Tom Show" as well as the "The Dan Patrick Show" podcast. He's recorded two comedy albums , with tracks regularly featured on SirusXM Satellite Radio. Brody can also be seen in his Dry Bar Comedy special "Not Afraid of Butterflies".

What do you get when you mix a shrink & comedian? This guy! Jesse is a bona fide licensed therapist & standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner-workings & often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure: after hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again!
Jesse is the producer & host of Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, St Paul Art Crawl Comedy Night, Therapy & Politics, & the 420 Standup Comedy Show.
He’s also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, creator of the Funniest Person in St Paul contest, & runs a weekly comedy open mic at Gambit Brewing. Jesse won the 2024 Clear Water Comedy contestat The Plus in Eau Claire, WI, was a 2024 Funniest Person With A Day Job finalist at House of Comedyin Mall of America, & is a regular guest on the Tom Barnard Podcast.

Lahiru Samarasinghe
Lahiru has performed in the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival (twice) in Minneapolis, been a finalist in the House of Comedy's Funniest Person With a Day Job Contest, and was runner-up in Acme Comedy Club’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities Contest. Oh yeah, and in 2024 Racket MN named him a "Comic to Watch"!
Currently Lahiru works at the Comedy Corner Underground in Minneapolis, hosting shows, running the room, and providing booking support. He also hosts The Modist Comedy Hour, a monthly comedy showcase at Modist Brewing in Minneapolis.
By viewing his experience as the oldest American-born child of a Sri Lankan family through a silly lens, Lahiru is able to share his life in a way audiences can relate to.
Ulysses Zackery
Ulysses has been a multifaceted entertainer for 40+ years, including voice acting, roles in television shows, movies, & commercials, & oh yeah - he’s a standup comedian & producer!
In fact he’s produced shows throughout the Twin Cities & been featured at venues such as House of Comedy in Mall of America & Sisyphus Brewing’s popular Comedy Room.

Live Music: Graden Hill
Graden Hill, a 24 year old folk-singer and storyteller from Minnesota, has been part of the Twin Cities music scene for more than a decade. His music, influenced by midwestern Americana greats, such as John Prine, Mason Jennings, and Uncle Tupelo, reflects the unique spirit of the region.
Performing since his earliest teen years, Hill’s career has spanned from hifi indie pop/rock projects with his band, Second Hand Dan, to stripped down folk and Americana arrangements on his solo work. His debut album, “A Dog to Keep You Warm” blends late 60’s folk revival with modern techniques, while capturing the essence of his Minnesotan roots.

THIS WEEK’S HEADLINERS:
Randall Reid
A 10-year comedy veteran, Randall has one of the most refreshingly authentic voices in the Twin Cities comedy scene. Whether it’s sharing his own unique experiences with race, family, his reflections on the world around him, or riffing with (often predominately white) audiences in a way that challenges them and makes them squirm. But in a fun way.
With influences ranging from Louie Anderson to Sam Jay, Reid has truly found his comic voice over the past several years, which has taken him places he didn’t know were possible. No matter where he performs, he is likely to leave his mark on the audience.
Lily Meyer
Lily is a stand-up comedian and writer who began her comedy career in Boston and now lives in her hometown of Minneapolis. Her style of comedy is dark and sometimes dirty. Some people have thanked her for ‘finally saying what they have been feeling their entire lives’, and those people need professional help.
Lily performs at the Comedy Corner Underground, Sisyphus Brewing, and Camp Bar while also co-producing a bimonthly show at Indeed Brewing. She is a contributing writer for RiffTrax.
