Ethan Pedersen:
Ethan is a Minneapolis-based standup comedian, fresh off winning the Funniest Person w/ a Day Job contest at House of Comedy. Possessing maturity beyond his years, a keen observational eye and the awareness for making light of everyday life and the absurdity of situations we may all find ourselves in. He was the winner of the Funniest Person with a Day Job contest at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in 2024. He’s also had several finals appearances in comedy competitions including Fargo’s Funniest Person contest, the Funniest Person Contest at Acme Comedy Club in Minneapolis, and the Funniest Person in Minneapolis contest at Sisyphus Brewing. He's also a regular at venues across Minneapolis including Sisyphus and The Comedy Corner Underground and The House of Comedy, all known for having nationally touring headliners. Along with being a featured stand-up in Minneapolis' MN Comedy blog. He’s currently working at clubs and bars across the midwest delivering sharp, witty comedy, with a twist of silliness and always with a clever, midwest sensibility.
Dan Mogel:
At the age of 5, Dan learned what stand-up comedy is and dreamed of being on stage one day. Fourteen years later, Dan made his stand-up debut in Los Angeles at The World Famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip. The passion was there but the timing was not right. Comedy had to go on hold. In those 7 years, the focus was college, slinging food, pounding nails, swinging an axe and even took a few turns at being a salesman. The jobs list goes on & on. The whole time all he wanted to do was make people laugh. With life experiences notched and the ability to engage a crowd, Dan made his real run at Stand up in 2010.
In his first year of doing stand up, Dan was a Semifinalist in the 2010 Acme Comedy Company - Twin Cities Funniest Person Contest. Four years later he became Runner Up in the 2014 House of Comedy - Funniest Person With a Day Job Contest. Dan has become known throughout the Midwest for his incorporation of masterful impressions, skillful writing and captivating stage presence. As a lover of food, drink and the outdoors, Dan truly is a Minnesota sweetheart. One of the many things people can take away from his act is just how relatable he is. Dan has taken his talents to other realms including radio, TV commercials, acting, and sketch comedy, making him a force to be reckoned with in the world of comedy.
FUNNIEST PERSON IN ST. PAUL CONTEST:
Before the two headliners, it’s Week 2 of the new Gambit Brewing Company’s Funniest Person in St. Paul contest. The preliminary round will take place every Tuesday from June 25th-August 27th, spanning 10 weeks. Each week one winner will be voted for (by the audience, Gambit Brewing staff, the host, & the headliners) with the contest culminating in a finale on September 3rd, featuring all 10 winners from the prelims.
The winner will be crowned Funniest Person in St Paul AND get a paid spot in a Gambit Brewing comedy show on Friday, September 6th, with headliner & St Paul Comedy Fart-Star Jeff Pfoser! 2nd place will get a paid spot in a Freshly Squeezed Comedy Show & 3rd place will get a paid “Special Guest” spot in a future Gambit Brewing Stand Up Comedy Open Mic Night!
